This packaging design for a fictional beverage company in Buffalo, NY, combines the raw power of Niagara Falls and the bison to represent the effervescence and snappy flavor of the bubbly drink. The bottles sit in the pack angled back slightly, to give the effect they are floating downstream in the rolling waters. Featured in the “Call for Aspiring Creatives 35” portfolio review in the fall/winter 2006 issue of CMYK Magazine.

These book jacket designs, for three classic Vonnegut books, use blurry black and white photography to capture the surreal nature of the stories. As they all have writers as main characters, the illustrations are made from glyphs: the UFO is made with colons inspired by the clock and notation for time, the bomb is made of multiplication symbols representing the intersecting characters, and the martini made with asterisks as a nod to the humorous drawing of a certain body part in Breakfast for Champions.

This 60+ page book, The Neocons: Architects of the American Empire, uses an expressive combination of imagery and type to convey a sense of ominous mystery, danger, and caution about the clandestine and colonial nature of the right-wing, neoconservative cabal who’s aim is to direct U.S. Foreign policy.

Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps, the quirky bottles completely covered in a mess of varied type, get a redesign here. The Doctor's core message is retained, as is the heritage of the type-covered bottles, but it is condensed down to a few key quotes and proclamations, for bolder impact. The mark is a single drop and splash representing the purity and concentration of the products. The drop and splash also together form a star, symbolizing the "magic" in Magic Soaps.

Joe Bussard is one of the world's foremost collectors of vintage 78 rpm records. The labels, ads, and posters for these records, produced in the early 1900’s, inspired the typography, while the tone of the photography captures the basements and dime stores where these treasures hide. The rough treatment is inspired by the old, weathered sleeves, the dusty bins, and the forgotten, back-roads world that Joe inhabits. Featured in the “Call for Aspiring Creatives 35” portfolio review in the fall/winter 2006 issue of CMYK Magazine.

This poster was designed for a poem I wrote about my father’s death. I think it speaks for itself.

The Buckminster Fuller Institute is dedicated to empowering people, especially young adults and children, with the inspiration, strategies, and philosophical insights of Bucky Fuller. The graphic narrative of this corporate capabilities book tells the story of Fuller and his sense of child-like wonder with illustrations inspired by the optimism of the ecology and design movements of the 1960's and '70's. By telling this story, the Institute aims to establish their guiding principles and a point of perspective for looking forward and inspiring and exploring solutions for optimizing humanity’s role on planet Earth.
